Los Alamitos Hematology Oncology
|
Mario Curti, MD
I graduated from Trinity College in
Hartford, Connecticut in 1987. I majored
in biology but wasn’t sure what I wanted to
do after college. So I worked in a
pharmacology research department at the
University of Connecticut. For two years I
was a lab rat, spending countless
evenings and weekends pouring gels,
cleaning test tubes and trying to make
sense of basic bench research. I did get a
real appreciation for molecular biology, but
I also knew my true calling was outside the
laboratory, with more involvement in
patient care. That is why I chose to go to
medical school at the University of
Connecticut. The next stop was Saint
Mary Medical Center in Long Beach,
California, where I did my residency in
internal medicine, followed by a fellowship
in hematology and oncology at Harbor-
UCLA.
I now practice hematology and oncology
here at Los Alamitos
Hematology/Oncology Medical Group, Inc.
The varied experiences I have had
through my years of learning and leisure
will hopefully benefit my patients. With the
help of my colleagues, we hope to bring a
special kind of medicine to the patients in
our community. It is the type that delivers
state-of-the art hematology and oncology
care with thoughtfulness and respect.
